About the Event

Argentinian Wine Tasting

Try something new. Typically when you think of Argentinian wines, you think Malbec and Torrontes. However, there are other grape varieties to explore.

  1. White Blend: Palomino, Pedro Ximénez, Ugniblanc, Chenin, Moscatel Amarillo, Sauvignonese.
  2. Rosé: 100% Cereza Grape: a cross between two of the first grapes to arrive on the continent, Moscatel de Alejandría and Listán Prieto (aka. Criolla Chica). It grows well in dry conditions and can survive in even the more saline soils.
  3. Red Bled: Bonarda, Syrah, Sangiovese, Cardinale, Beiquiñol, Barebera, Buonamico.
  4. Sangiovese, a familiar grape from Italy, but Argentinian style.
  5. Criollo Grande: It is primarily found in the Mendoza region. The grape has pink skin, which is thicker than in its Chilean cousin, Pais, and is used to produce deeply colored white wine.
